I’m a book proselytizer, author advocate, and the founder of Lauren Lavelle Literary, a boutique literary services agency that offers publicity and general support services to publishers and authors.
In 2007, after earning my undergraduate degree in Creative Writing and Communication Studies at Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana, I accepted a job at Random House, packed a U-Haul, and headed east to New York City. The moment I stepped into Random House’s stunning lobby, I knew I had found my professional home in book publishing. For eight years I was an in-house publicist at Random House and Simon & Schuster–fully immersed in the inner workings of the industry–before launching my literary services agency in 2014.
After a decade in New York City, in 2017 I traded Manhattan skyscrapers for the foothills and blue skies of Boise, Idaho, where I live with my husband, two daughters, and black cat Alice. A nature enthusiast, in my free time you’ll find me hiking the foothills, taking a long walk by the Boise River, and maintaining my mediocre backyard garden. I serve as Vice President on the Board of Directors for The Cabin, a literary arts nonprofit in Boise, and am at work on a debut novel represented by Allison Hunter at Trellis Literary Management.
